Reading too many enjoyable things lately not to share, so here comes November's Reading List!
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert - I am a huge fan of Liz Gilbert but honestly, this was kind of meh for me. However, I might be the odd one out because I've heard from many other friends + creatives that they loved it. There's a Big Magic podcast to check out as well.
Brave Enough by Cheryl Strayed - on the other hand, I loved Brave Enough. It's simply a collection of quotes and I am an avid collector of quotes. I still think that her Tiny Beautiful Things should be the one book everyone reads.
Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff - this is a book split into two parts about love and marriage. The first half is told from the husband's point of view and the second half is the exact same story from the wife's point of view. It is brilliant. The first half is good, but the second half is incredible. One of my very favorites from this year.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman - I started this back in August and it took me a long time to finish but it was so worth it. This is quirky story that jumps around a bit in time and like I mentioned, it's a slow starter but once you get into it... you're in. It reminded me of The Rosie Project, so if you enjoyed that one give this a try.
A Window Opens by Elisabeth Egan - halfway through this one and it's been a good lighter read. Related-ish but I saw the movie The Intern recently and loved that as well.
In need for some new books to bring along for a long trip next week. Please leave recs for ones you couldn't put down recently!
