A few weeks ago when I went to Charlotte for CKC, I was so lucky to get to have dinner with one of my favorite families - The Feketes. I tweeted that y'all shouldn't be too jealous because, as you know, getting to spend time with these four people is a fabulous treat.
They drove up to spend the day in the city and then scooped me up for dinner. I broked my veggie state because Gabby had picked out an amazing BBQ place and there's no way I was denying that deliciousness.
We all marveled over that 5 pound sandwich. Even a professional like me was in awe of that monstrosity. We had some deep fried pickles to start and man, I need more deep fried pickles in my life.
I went for some ribs and Mike had a masterpiece of meat...
It was so tasty. But the real happiness came from getting to spend time with a dear longtime, wonderful friend and seeing her being an amazing mama up close and personal. That just makes me so happy beyond words.
And these little munchkins... I could just eat them up.
You know how you can just tell that kids are going to grow up to be incredible people? Mr. Ev and Miss Olive are perfect examples of that right there.
I can't think of a better excuse to break all the rules and indulge in a little meat and lots of smiles.
